Hazardous
materials are an ever present danger to the first responder, especially
if they are unaware of their presence. This introductory class emphasizes
recognition of hazardous materials and the appropriate follow-up
actions such as identify the product, isolate the area, and notify
other responders. The use of the Department of Transportation's
Emergency Response Guide (2004 ERG) is emphasized.
